STAT 455 Experimental Design
(3:3:0) Prerequisite: STAT 350 or STAT 354 or
DESC 353. Principles of analysis of variance and experimental design.
Topics covered include computation and interpretation of analysis of
variance, multiple comparisons, orthogonal contrasts, design of experiments
including factorial, hierarchical, and split plot designs, principles of
blocking and confounding in 2**n experiments, estimation of variance
components. Optional topics may include analysis of covariance, partial
hierarchical designs, or incomplete block designs. Computer statistical
packages are used to perform computations.
