Clifton D. Sutton
Professor Clifton D. Sutton received the B.S. degree in applied mathematics
from the University of Virginia in 1983. He received the M.S. and Ph.D.
degrees, in statistics, from Stanford University in 1985 and 1987. He
is the author or coauthor of several journal articles dealing with
probability, statistics, and data analysis, and he is an associate
editor for Computational Statistics. His major areas of interest are
robust statistics, computer-intensive methods of applied statistics,
and geometric probability, and he recently completed an extensive
study to assess the performance of numerous robust and computer-intensive
methods for hypothesis testing. Dr. Sutton came to GMU in Fall 1987 as
an Assistant Professor of Operations Research and Applied Statistics, and
is a member of both the Center for Computational Statistics and the
Institute for Computational Sciences and Informatics. Dr. Sutton is
Associate Professor of Applied and Engineering Statistics.
