The graduate certificate program is designed to afford active
as well as aspiring professionals working with the federal statistical
system an opportunity to acquire additional credentials. The certificate
focuses on statistical methods such as survey research, statistical
computing, categorical data analysis and many other areas as well as
the supporting technologies in areas such as computing, database systems,
economics, sociology, and psychology needed for the smooth functioning
of the federal statistical system. The certificate involves 15 credit
hours of graduate work in five graduate courses agreed to by the student
and his or her graduate coordinator. These courses may later be applied
to the M.S. in Statistical Science. Further information on the
